The definitive bedroom trends of 2022: sustainable and ambient.
As the New York Fashion Week kicks off, fashion magazines will be brimming with all kinds of new trends! What will we see on this year’s catwalk?
More to the point, what will we see in our bedrooms? The bedroom is often overlooked when it comes to decor and design. After all, we sleep with our eyes shut so why bother to decorate? But in today’s hectic, pressured world, we could all do with a place to unwind in. A place that encapsulates tranquillity; where you feel good. So, we are delighted to recap the 2022 bedroom trends for you!

1. Less is more.
If there’s one thing the pandemic has taught us, it’s that we must look after ourselves and the planet better. Collectively, we consciously sought ways to do things better for ourselves, but the generations to follow too. Sustainability has become a conscious choice. Over time, we continue to buy less, and what we buy lasts longer. Quality remains paramount! This way the environment benefits, without compensating on comfort or design.
2. Mindfull leven.
A place where you can come to at any time of the day … your bedroom is your safe haven! Recharging your batteries takes on a whole new meaning in your place of slumber. Using muted colours, organic materials, bedroom plants and especially organic shapes, you can create a bedroom that truly brings you down to earth and reenergises you. If in doubt about the colour palette, try to envisage them as you would in the great outdoors. This way, you can’t go wrong!
3. In the clouds!
Covers, throws and cushions don’t come into the minimalist trend. Better yet! We’re seeing ever-bolder fabric & texture combinations. When we lie in bed we want to feel like we’re in the clouds. Everything has to look and feel soft and of superior quality!
4. Hotel @ Home.
By and large, you’re the only one who gets to see your bedroom, and so is often overlooked when it comes to decor and design. That’s a shame, actually! In fact, you can enjoy a real hotel experience in your very own bedroom. The pinnacle of opulence and enjoyment! Pivotal elements are extra wide beds, decorative cushions on your bed, soft throws, deluxe wallpaper, or even, gold accessories on your bedside table!
5. A warm colour palette.
Besides the lighter natural tones, such as beige, we also see fundamental black & white hues with splashes of grey appearing here and there in the bedroom. The serenity both options generate is enhanced by accents and colours from our natural surroundings. Both light and dark brown wood, but also warm green hues are the ideal backdrop combination.
